Captions and Comments always visible

Unlike at Worth1000, Comments and Captions are visible to all even before the voting ends. If you submit a Votable Caption rather than a comment, check the appropriate checkbox below the Comment Box which says "Is this a votable caption?". Then other members may vote your caption, and may view only captions, filtered from comments by clicking [show winning captions] link.

That's cool - but doesn't the creator usually put in their own caption via the creator comments box?

The creator indeed puts a caption or a comment which goes right below the picture. But other people may submit captions too, which will be shown in the comments section, below the "Creator's Words"

Do you want "captions" on the entries as well? (At worth1000 this would be gracious text) Or should we use the Comments box solely for that purpose?

Spelling inspected prior to submission. Any errors occured en route.

Do you imply the ones submitted by the author (Author's note) or by others commenting/captioning on the entries?

Comments Box can be used for both comments and captions. It's probably bad that they both appear at the same place, but to separate them would bring some additional problems. I thought this would be a fun idea to allow others to caption, as I had a big success with caption feature on my other site - a lot of people are creative enough to submit hilarious captions. Comments are also important, but captions, in my opinion add an extra twist to the entry. Let's see how they go for a while - if authors will not be happy with captions feature we can always remove it later.

I was talking about the story on the image itself. Putting the text on the entry, instead of in the Players Comments box. If you leave the text of an entry, users might be more interrested in adding their own captions.

I see. Well, it would be cruel to remove the right of the author to have his first word on the entry. Of course he may enter it in comment form, rather than "player's comments" box, but it's not really the same, as "signing his work". I think people who want to submit captions will submit them anyhow, even after Player's Comments.
