I tweaked something. Please try now and let me know if it works for you.

Yesterday, the system did not allow me to submit a 348 KB picture. I had to decrease its size a bit. I guess that it was because your size limit is (was?) not 350 KB (= 350 x 1024 bytes), but more likely 350000 bytes.

If not done already, you should edit the error message too.

You can set up Photoshop's "Save for Web" feature to compress to 350kb and it will be saved to under 350,000 bytes.

Thank you, AZRainman, but I know how I can compress a picture under 350 KB. But 350 KB is more than 350000 bytes (it's actually 350 * 1024 = 358400 bytes). If the limit is set to 3500000 bytes, it means that your picture should not be a lot bigger than 341 (real) KB.

A real kilobyte is equal to 1024 bytes, not 1000 bytes, despite what hard disk makers are using to sell us their products...

You are quite right! I did not take this fact into consideration days ago when I increased the uploading limit size. Yesterday I adjusted it, so it's 350 KB for sure now (and even a tiny bit more )

Please let me know if you have problems uploading 350 KB again.

Okay my bad, I noticed some of my old entries where above 250,000 bytes while under 250kb and they uploaded without a hitch. I was under the assumption PS's compression threshold was setting it to the bytes rather than kilobytes.

Thanks Newsy for bumping it up a little.

This sounds great. It will totally make a difference in the images. Thanks Newsy and to all who pushed for it...

Newsy I think you should change the FAQ accordingly because it still states:

"Once you are satisfied with the way it looks, save it in jpg format and get it to under 250KB."

There's a similar problem with our personal media folders where the limit is said to be 200 KB but actually, it's (very likely) set to 200000 bytes. I was not allowed to upload a 197 KB picture there, but it works if the size of your picture is under 195 (real) KB...
