Entry Comments

I have brought the comments issue several times before and I do believe they are one of the main driving factors of participation - people create entries and they want to see
some opinions about them. ANY: critiques, memories, captions,
associations, and even "LOL", "good one" is better than receiving ZERO
comments. Keep in mind that authors often spend hours on an entry,
then they expect to see some feedback. No feedback means no one cares for their work.
I know I would be discouraged to enter if I expected to see no comments.

As I said, comments do not always have to be critiques. Some can be praise (what I like about this entry), associations (this reminds me), captions (what this picture may say in a humorous way), emotions, etc.
So, if you like receiving comments, make sure you comment on entries of others!

Comments are good to get but hard to give. Critiques are often ignored or not taken well by the maker of the image so they are not given. I agree they are helpful and rewarding but it is just hard to do sometimes.

I enjoy critical assessments more that phoney slap happy praises.

Anyone can write "hahaha, that's funny", but those who have taken the time to actually look at the fundamentals and say how it can be improved separate the artist from peanut gallery banter.

I would stress honesty is the best policy.

Much of humanity's current philosophy that revolves around placating fragile egos and building narcissistic minds makes little sense to me. I tend to not open yap because fear of reprisals and I hate being a phony baloney with insincere comments.

I rather see people with the freedom to be honest and call it like it is...but that's still a dream to see society grow past egotism. I also see those as post phoney praises and then vote low on the same image are frauds, and I have little respect for them. I suppose some think they are fooling people, but they only fool themselves.

Oops too late, should of called it like it is.

I subscribe to this simple philosophy (religion):
1. Be good to other people.
2. Don't be an man-meat. (or whatever the filter says)
