As you have seen we redesigned the contest pages. The new design may look unusual, but it has one very important advantage over the previous version - new site visitors can clearly see that we are publishing edited images, instead of just news story.
I found that many new visitors failed to scroll below to the images, and just glanced at the news text, thinking that we are just a news article site. The words "SCROLL BELOW TO VIEW IMAGES" didn't help much.
Thus the new design. I actually like it better this way too. Let me know what you think about it.

(some minor design changes are still on the way, but you get the idea of a new template)

No complaints from me Newsy. Thanks for all of your hard work.

I like the new page setup. I think it's a lot easier to view.

I too miss the ability to expand the comments. Except for that, I like it.

'View all' is important - I'm glad to see it's back, but we do need to 'Expand comments' to make it easier to follow.
But if that ain't good enuff - just don't mess with the price of beer and all will be well with the world!!

I think the new design is great, it's better to see the edited images straight away rather than having to scroll down (a lot more convenient!)

i agree with that.

When this design was first used, I wondered what happened, but now that I saw this post, I think it's great. You can see the images right away instead of having to scroll down.

Great idea.

In your reflection what do you see? False fault or a masterpiece? But a masterpiece starts with a single stroke and empires start in an open field.

Hey, Newsy. I just saw something else that you changed today. You have the title to the picture in bold right under the picture. I like it. It looks good.

(but I DO miss the 'expand comments' )

I also vote for the comment expansion. I was more inclined to chime in with comments when I saw other comments and captions. I wonder if it's possible to measure the before and after comment activity to see if there is a direct correlation to comment expansion.
