RWPike sent me a link to download a painting program which turned out to be more of a finger painting application that would be good for little kids, but I haven't found anything that will actually produce anything worthwhile....you are going to love the iPad though, I've had mine for about three years and couldn't live without it

Thanks mate. Yeah it's great feel like they are missing a trick when it comes to photoshop though. Maybe they will come up with something.

I don't know about stuff from the appstore, but there are a few online applications that don't completely suck (these may be flash based, though, which would kinda rule out the iPad unless you were willing to jailbreak it)

splashup isn't half bad. I've not tried aviary's pheonix, but they seem to be trying to get you to use it at W1K, so it must not be the suckiest thing on the entire planet.

Davis Hockney creates pictures on his iPad. He had an exhibition recently. He uses Photoshop along with a pen tool.

Here's a pretty cool tutorial for Adobe Photoshop Touch For iPad 3 & iPad 2
And here's a link for the Application (Adobe Photoshop Touch For iPad 3 & iPad 2 App)

I haven't had a chance to try it, but it only costs a 10 spot!

I've been fooling with it a little it's pretty limited if you read some of the comments on the App page, you can get a sense of both the complaints, and the updates they've been gradually making addressing the complaints it's definitely a work in progress

Yeah been checking out the comments , it,s frustrating that the new iPad is so powerfull yet the photo manipulation options available seem to be very limited and basic

I've been looking for Photoshop-apps too for my Samsung galaxy tab.. but haven't found a good one so far..

I was quite excited when I installed the Photoshop-touch app a few weeks ago.. but after playing with it a while I was quite disappointed.

I just joined Aviary so I could try it. I found it a bit slow but it does have some interesting features. I may work pretty well on the iPad as you upload your image and work online.

Photoshop Touch seems to be as good as it gets, so far. Unless you want to draw, then perhaps it's Sketchbook.

I haven't tried it and I'd rate the worthiness on what people have done with it.

I have an android and it's an amusing toy at best. Hard to imagine doing serious photo-manipulation on it. I prefer big screens.
