WEEK IN PICTURES

There seems to be some confusion on entering "WEEK IN PICTURES" The Contest Directions state...Create images of something that happened in the news during

September 20 - 26, 2010.

Because of comments I placed on a few entries, where the news story did not meet the guidelines, I've gotten emails asking if they have to withdraw from the contest.

I believe they should have to find a news story or remove it... I will leave this to the ADMIN to decide

We have new members joining every day. Many of them confuse "Week in Pictures" contest with the Freak Show contest which has an open theme. We often move these chops to the Freak Show with email to the authors. Other n00bs make a chop based on the news, but do not plug the news link. Sometimes we let these entries stay without a news link but post a warning to such members.

I understand getting mixed up with contest
If they add a news link, during the week in pictures contest, then the news should be during the specified time frame, is all I'm saying

I hear ya DDB. There seems to be a little accepted slop between dates. The main times when I bend that rule is if I really wanted to chop a news story but ran out of time due to chopping something else. Sometimes, very rare, I'll roll it over to the next week if it's still pertinient enough as an ongoing drama or something.
Anyway, it's amusing to watch the noobs stumble around for a few weeks until they get their bearings hahahahaha
