oh yeah...Bruce Lee has the same birthday. He'd be 72, but you all once said that you include artists birthdays no matter what, and he was an artist by anyone's description (martial artist).

Just lobbyin' for my man. no big...

I agree with you Malcolm, Bruce Lee was an artist, he influenced a lot of people, including me. too bad he died so young.

Allergic reaction to the reefer he was chewing, most likely...no one knows for sure what made his brain swell that night, but I always feel bad for Linda...not because he died, but because he was with his Hong Kong mistress when he did.

I used to go to his grave a bunch (which is nice that I can since it's here). It's a little gaudy, but there's a very serene bench with a quote on it that I can't recall as I write this, and it's a cool place to chill and think (when it's not his birthday or some other vigil-type occasion).

Lakeview is a sweet cemetery, though...Francis Farmer, Kurt Cobain, Bruce and Brandon, and a bunch of other famous people from the region (and city founders and such...I think a bunch of the Nordstroms are buried there as well, but I never looked for their grave sites). The view of Lake Washington is phenomenal as well.

Jimi's grave is in Renton which is about 10 miles south of the city. I have no idea why, but he doesn't seem to mind, so what do I care?

Whose grave is this?, Jimi Hendrix has a really elaborate one.

That's the bench that this guy is sitting on in the picture below. It's Bruce and Brandon Lees' grave site at Lakeview Cemetery in Seattle (Capital Hill for anyone who lives here or travels occasionally).

And actually, Jimi's grave is pretty modest. What you're referencing is the memorial that the cemetery erected. Jimi's family was a predominantly military family. They had a family grave plot, but it was nothing fancy because military families in the US tend to live very modest lifestyles (because if they wanted you to have a wife and kids, they would have issued them to you with your uniform).

and, if I'm not mistaken, this is his second gravestone, and the first wasn't even as adorned or large as this one...

wow...you're seriously not going to do this. Take a look at Google's search trends for "jimi", "hendrix", "jimmy hendrix" (some people...), etc for today and let me know how much site traffic you missed out on by passing this one over.

I can only do so much, ya know...eventually, I just gotta take my ball and bat and find another field.
