I would really like to have comments and suggestions on how I could improve my work. I work with Gimp, so some of the Photoshop tutorials don't mean much to me, but it would help if people could point out what is good/positive about my work and in what ways it could be improved. Then I can go looking on the web for Gimp tutorials that might help me to achieve better results.

Thanks, Hillybill. I'm not too fussed about the awards, either, but I do want to keep on improving my work. That's why I enter the FN comps - it gives me an incentive to learn new things. I had never done anything "artistic" (I always think of myself as lacking the creative gene) but photochopping is fun! And I use Gimp because it is a free download - we retired persons need to watch our pennies.

Photoshop and filters can be expensive, and I wouldn't for even a moment suggest downloading them for free from bit torrent.no sir .

I am the nervous nellie who says don't do that. It is only a matter of time before Adobe becomes crazy and demands 20 times what the program costs through the courts against free downloaders.

Photoshop Elements is a great program. I had it for years. It does a few things better than photoshop actually. I have heard great things about gimp too.
