A Work in Progress with Camtasia Studio

I was curious what software people used to make those speed painting videos on YouTube. I found Camtasia Studio seems to the best of the bunch.

Here's my first attempt in a short speed photo manipulation video, where I turn Zooey Deschanel's photo into an graphic illustration.

Software used for this video:
Photoshop CS5
Adobe Audition 4
Camtasia Studio 7

This software would come in handy for making an impressive work in progress video to link to your contest entry, or to show off your Photoshop skills.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Neato!

Hey Rain, how much editing did you do to the clip?

I've always been curious as to how much fiddling has to be done to the camtasia clip.....like how much do you edit out?

I didn't cut anything out. Camtasia also adds in all the autozoom points that can be changed in the editor. Adding soundtrack and intro was the time intensive part. On long projects, I'd say it would be best to do 30 minute sections and splice them together in Camtasia.

I used to do a lot of linear editing in school days and this program is one of the easiest I have ever used and is feature packed.

I could of purged my PS history cache and the filter would of worked. I didn't bother with it, since it looked okay without more rust. I also just updated Eye Candy, so that may fix the problem.

I have 6gb of memory, and the my psd image was 4005 x 4387 pixels. If I wanted to avoid any memory issues to begin with, I could of reduced the dimensions by 50%.

The last option would be to buy more ram. I will probably buy another puter when Windows 8 comes out, so memory would have to be damn cheap ($5/gb) before put some in a unit that was first designed in late 2009.

Welcome to the disposable tech society....
