Animated GIFs: The Birth of a Medium

It is titled the Birth of a Medium, but re-birth is more appropriate. This could take chopping to a whole new level.

Excellent video. Animated gifs are freaking classic. I remember how much fun they were before internet videos appeared.
And they are still lots of fun.

I'm intrigued with the advancements in the art form, with respect to making "Living Photos". With the increase in bandwidth the sky's the limit. My old gifs are very telling of slow modems.

I love the Cartier advert. It is being shown a lot on British TV.

I wish that was a how-to. I'd like to know how to make them.

They are very Simple Animations that, unlike Flash Animation, have no Audio, but are Still Good to Make Web Banners, Cartoons, and Instructional Demonstrations.

By Using Programs like Adobe Image Ready or Adobe Fireworks, you can Daisy Chain like Images together with Minor Changes and Animate Them like a Picture Flip Booklet.

This Animation is made up of 3 Images that repeat over and over again at intervals of .4 of a Second of Time.

Adobe Image Ready came Bundled Free with Photoshop 7, but I'm Sure there are other options you could probably download of the Web if You Google, GIF Animator Free. Have Fun!

Take Care,

Thanks bunches! I have Adobe Image Ready, but have never used it. But if it's easy, I'm willing to look into it, LOL. I'm not good with written instructions unless they're written for "dummies" -- I do better with how-tos via YouTube, etc.

But ... nothing ventured, nothing gained!
