Current news is being dominated by growing tensions from both sides on possible attack on Iran. After some political muscle play and failed negotiations to stop the Iran plutonium enrichment program, US and Israel are ready to attack Iran, while Russia warned it won't tolerate an attack on Iran. Iran fired 9 test missiles as a threat. It looks like Iran, U.S., Israel and Russia are ready to make war, not love.
Take any non-war movie and give it a war theme. Some examples are: give uniforms and weapons to movie characters and movie posters, add military units, nukes, explosions, destruction, smoke. These are just some ideas.

Reasons of wars and their classification
Principal cause of occurrence of wars - aspiration of political forces to use the armed struggle for achievement various outwardly - and the internal political purposes.
With occurrence of mass armies in XIX century xenophobia (hatred, intolerance to someone or something to the stranger unfamiliar, unusual, perception of the stranger as not clear, incomprehensible, and therefore dangerous and hostile), erected in a rank of world-view. On its basis national, religious or social enmity is easily inflamed and consequently since 2nd half XIX century xenophobia is the basic tool of fomentation of wars, direction of aggression, certain manipulations of crowds inside the state etc.
On the other hand, the European societies, survived destructive wars of the XX-th century, began to aspire to live in peace. Very often members of such societies live in fear of any shocks. As an example of it can serve idea «If only there was no war», prevailing in the Soviet society after the end of the most destructive war of the XX-th century - World War II.

Wars of liberation concern to the just wars - for example, individual or collective self-defence against aggression according to article 51 of the United Nations Charter or national liberation war against colonizers for realisation of the right to self-determination. In the modern world the wars, which are conducted by separative movements (Abkhazia, Ulster, Kashmir) are considered as formally fair wars, but they are not approved.

State of war
The state of war brings about a number of legal effects- the termination of diplomatic and other relations between warring nations, the termination of the international contracts, etc. So, for example, all agreements between Russia and Japan about demarcation of islands (Sakhalin and Kuril Islands), which were concluded in XIX century, have become invalid in connection with the Russian-Japanese war 1904-1905, therefore any references to them are wrongful presently.
War can come to the end with unconditional surrender of one of the contradictory parties or with the peace treaty, which partially satisfies the participating parties. In any case war comes to an end with peace, which is usually defined as absence of war or a condition of the removed contradictions.
In mankind history there was fixed and described about 15 thousand wars. Till the XIX century the wars had rather narrow economic base and were fighted, as a rule, by not numerous professional armies. Since second half of the XIX century and especially from the XXth century wars demand enormous pressure of economy of the belligerents and involve population of many millions in a long struggle. In the First World War participated over 70 million people, in the Second World War - 110 million. |
