Snakes Like Humans
Contest Directions: A Colorado family has moved out of their newly-bought house after discovering hundreds of snakes living inside. Now a bankruptcy court may sue the previous owner and real estate agent for failure to disclose the snakes were there. It looked like a gem - four bedrooms, four baths, - except the snakes lived there too.
Photoshop snakes living their lives like humans, with some human habits.

This contest is fueled by the following news: Snake sense organs: The eyes are protected with unique "lenses" - knitted well with transparent eyelids. Snakes have no external ears, however, snakes sense the ground vibrations and sounds in an extremely narrow frequency range. In comparison with other reptiles, heat the sensitivity organ of snakes is quite well developed and the organ is located on the front between the eye and nose on each side of the head. In pit vipers and rattlesnakes, the heat locator helps in determining the direction of the source of head radiation. In this case, they receive infra-red radiation, coming from surrounding objects, not like electromagnetic waves but particularly as heat. Habitat and life: Spreading: Snakes are found practically in almost all living places of Earth except air space. Snakes are found on all the continents excepting Antarctica. They are found in places from the Polar circle in the North to the Southern tip of the American continent. Numerous snakes are found in the tropical regions of Asia, Africa, South America and in Australia. Snakes prefer to inhabit the territories with a hot climate. Snakes are found in various ecological conditions - forests, steppes, caves, on foothills and in mountains. Mainly, snakes lead a terrestrial life but some types of snakes live under-ground, in water and on trees. During unfavorable conditions, for instance, snakes go into hibernation during the winter season. Food: All the known snakes are predators. They feed on various animals: vertebrates and invertebrates. There are some snake types, which like eating certain type of preys, i.e, they are a stenophagous animals. For instance, the Regina Rigida exclusively feeds on crayfish and Dasypeltis - only on bird eggs. Non-venomous snakes swallow the prey alive (for example, Natrix) or kill the prey by holding it in the jaws and pressing the body against the ground (Coluber) or strangling the prey in the coils of the body (boas and pythons). Venomous snakes kill the prey by injecting the venom into their body using fangs. Snakes, as a rule, swallow the whole prey. The swallowing mechanism consists in an alternate movement of the right and left laves of the lower jaw (as if the snakes pull themselves on the prey). Mating: The majority of snakes breed by laying eggs. But some types are ovoviviparous or viviparous. In recent months, the majority of snake attacks on humans took place in June. June is the most dangerous month from the activity point of view of snakes in the Northern Hemisphere. During this period, a high venom concentration is observed in reptiles. Breeding season is distinguished by a special "suspicion" by snakes and any activity, which appears to them as danger - invokes an aggressive reaction in them. As a rule, it is possible to save the wounded and saving a human from the snake bite is a very rare case. How to avoid snake encounters: 1. Mow the high grown grass, remove the stones and fallen branches in gardens and yards, adjacent to private houses and first floor apartments of the buildings. Most often, snakes hide in such places. 2. During the active period of snakes, it is recommended to remove the coops with parrots and pigeons from the territory adjacent to residential areas. 3. It is not advisable to leave food near the house for cats and stray dogs since the food attracts rats and mice, which are indeed food of snakes. 4. During strolls and excursions, it is recommended not to put hands on bushes, walk on high-grown grass and remove the stones and branches. There is a high probability of stumbling upon a snake in such places. 5. While going into forests, it is necessary to wear high boots. 6. While remaining in open terrain during the night, it is necessary to compactly cover with rucksacks and bags. It is advisable to guard the tent entrance with an artificial barrier for creeping reptiles and in the morning, thoroughly check all the items which are left outside in the open air. What should be done if one comes across a snake: 1. By observing a snake near a residential area, it is necessary to inform the local municipality or call a professional snake catcher. 2. When the snake is very close, never make abrupt movements, which it may perceive as a threat.
