This contest is fueled by the following news: When all was said and done, Spider Man advertisements that were included on bases simply didn't rest well with baseball fans. Within 24 hours of the announcement that the ads would be put on bases beginning next month, Major League Baseball reversed itself on the issue -- no ads. Under the original (and now cancelled) plan, the ads were to appear on the bases -- but not home plate -- during baseball games played from June 11 through 13. The New York Yankees led the way towards the demise of the ads -- indicating that they would permit the ads on the bases during batting practice and only for a solitary game.
